Mother and Baby Unit
Our family-centered, specialist Mother and Baby Unit is ready to care for mothers who experience mental health difficulties during and after pregnancy. The aim of the service is to ensure that women who require admission and treatment can remain with their baby enabling the mother and baby to develop their special bond.
The ten-bed unit replaces our previous smaller unit. It has been developed to meet the Royal College of Psychiatrists Quality Network for Perinatal Mental Health Services.
If you or someone in your family is being considered for admission to our Mother and Baby Unit or have been admitted, you can find out more about the support and care we provide by clicking the tab "For service users and their families". There is also a short film which explains more about the unit and the service.
If you are a commissioner of mental health services, click on the tab "For Commissioners" for information about the service we provide and information about performance and quality.
If you are a clinician, click on the tab "For Clinicians" where we have a specific area which explains our therapeutic model and interventions. There is a referral form which you can download and a contact number for you to discuss referrals to the service.
